- AFTER THE NEW DME WAS PROGRAMMED THE FAULT CODE 3045 PROTECTION AGAINST TAMPERING SWT: ENGINE SPEED LIMITATION STAGE 2 WAS PRESENT AND PERMANENT. IT REQUIRED AN FSC CODE TO FINISH PROGRAMMING AND IT NEEDED TO BE VIA ISTAP ( BMW SOFTWARE) SEVERAL MODULES NEEDED TO BE UPDATED . FINISHED DME PROGRAMMING. FOUND THAT THE CRANK SENSOR IS FAULTY. REMOVED AND INSTALLED AN USED GENUINE CRANK SENSOR. ENGINE OPERATION RESTORED.

A VISUAL INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE CHARGE PIPE CONNECTION AT THE INTERCOOLER CAME LOOSE. FOUND THAT THE INTERCOOLER WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED. FOUND THAT THE RIGHT SIDE INTERCOOLER MOUNT BRACKET IS BROKEN. FOUND THAT THE LEFT SIDE INTERCOOLER MOUNT WAS MISSING AND FOUND IT WHEN THE UNDERCOVER WAS REMOVED. INSTALLED LEFT SIDE INTERCOOLER MOUNT BRACKET CORRECTLY. INSTALLED INTERCOOLER PIPE CORRECTLY. CLEARED FAULTS. TEST DROVE VEHICLE. NO FAULTS RETURNED. ENGINE OPERATION IS NORMAL.
- Customer states that the a/c is not cooling. Performed a/c diagnosis & found that the system is 1.3 pounds low on Freon. Vacuumed system and no major leaks were found at this time. Charged a/c system up to specifications. A/C system performance is normal. Technician could not determined any leaks at this time.
